Head of Site Reliability at Varda Space Industries

Christopher Petty has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the technology industry. Christopher is currently employed as the Head of Site Reliability at Varda Space Industries since January 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Relativity Space as the IT / DevOps Lead from August 2017 to January 2021. In this role, they were responsible for creating and maintaining cutting-edge systems utilizing open-source and proprietary software.

Before joining Relativity Space, Christopher worked at Anthem, Inc. as a System Administrator, SCCM from June 2016 to July 2017. Christopher was part of a team that integrated and consolidated configuration management processes and systems of multiple subsidiaries within Anthem Inc. organization.

From November 2013 to June 2016, Christopher served as a Senior Analyst, IT Services at Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX). Christopher managed and maintained systems and tools used by engineers for challenging missions.

Earlier in their career, Christopher worked at Westwood College as an ITS Specialist - Automation and Campus Support from February 2011 to November 2013. Christopher expanded the scope of the Symantec Management Platform and trained regional Campus Systems Administrators. Christopher also served as a Senior Campus Systems Administrator from August 2006 to February 2011, managing various projects and reducing expenses.

Christopher's work experience also includes a role as a Network Administrator at Melissa Data from August 2005 to August 2006, where they were responsible for client and server management. Christopher began their career as a Desktop Support at Career Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2004.

Christopher Petty earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Networking Management from Westwood College from 2004 to 2008. Christopher also obtained a Certificate in Electronics Technician from the Career Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, Christopher received multiple certifications, including MCP certifications from Microsoft in 2016, a Cisco Certified Network Associate certification in 2013, a Symantec Certified Professional - Endpoint Management certification in 2013, and an A+ Certification from CompTIA in 2004.
