David McFarland

David McFarland serves as the Vice President of Hypersonic and Reentry Test at Varda Space Industries since January 2025. Prior to this role, McFarland was the Director of Business Development at Northrop Grumman from March 2023 to January 2025, focusing on relationship building and people management with a skill set exceeding 85 capabilities. McFarland's extensive experience includes serving as the Senior Director of Operations and Programs at BAE Systems, where responsibilities involved overseeing multiple operations and programs across various locations, and as the Director of Business Development at Raytheon Missile Systems, concentrating on key weapon systems. McFarland also held the position of Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of the Navy, providing advisement and support. Academically, McFarland holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of New Mexico School of Engineering.
