Jonathan Luis

Jonathan Luis has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as VP of Mechanical Engineering at Varda Space Industries since July 2023. Prior to this, they had been the Head of Structures Engineering at Varda Space Industries from March 2021 to July 2023. Before joining Varda Space Industries, Jonathan worked at SpaceX, where they held multiple roles from 2014 to 2021. Jonathan served as a Senior Structures Engineer, Starlink Product Engineering from March 2020 to March 2021, Dragon Development Engineer II from September 2017 to March 2020, and Mechanical Design Engineer from January 2014 to September 2017. Jonathan's early career includes an internship at Space Exploration Technologies in 2013 as an Engineering Intern and an internship at Team Tango Aircraft from 2011 to 2013 as an Intern Mechanical and Aerospace Engineer. Jonathan started their career as a Junior Statistician at Statistics Solutions from December 2008 to December 2009.

Jonathan Luis completed their high school education at Palm Harbor University High School, where they achieved an International Baccalaureate degree from 2005 to 2009. Jonathan then attended the University of Florida from 2009 to 2013, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering.
