George Yu, PhD has a diverse work experience. From 2003 to 2009, they worked as an Intern at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, an Intern at Bearingpoint Consulting, a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Georgia Tech, a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology, a CEO at Genel Systems Inc, and a CEO/Founder at Variable, Inc. At Genel Systems Inc, they managed a startup company to pursue an electrochemical DNA hybridization array, wrote SBIR, STTR, and other proposals for funding, and acquired seed money from the state of Georgia's Venture Lab program. At the Georgia Institute of Technology, they developed a new instrument called Magnetic Quartz Crystal Microbalance, discovered the proximity effect of quartz crystal resonators, and investigated the enhanced response time of a chemical sensor (ChemFET) using diffusion modeling. At Variable, Inc, they designed and launched 3 products with over 130,000 units shipped all over the world, including a color matching product sold in over 4200 Sherwin Williams stores, a temperature measurement product used by Whole Foods stores, and a vibration measurement product used by Thyssen Krupp elevator company. George also raised $6.

George Yu received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004. George then continued their studies at the same institution, earning a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2007 and a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry in 2008.
