Peter Guzzo

Peter Guzzo has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In 1996, they began working at Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (AMRI) as the Director of Drug Discovery, leading drug discovery teams from project conception through early clinical trials. In 2015, they co-founded and served as the CEO of ConSynance Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical-stage drug development company pursuing innovative treatments for diseases with inadequate therapies. In 2016, they became an Adjunct Faculty Instructor for medicinal chemistry at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as the Senior VP of Drug Discovery and Development at SciMount Pharmatech, Advisor at Tryp Therapeutics, and Advisor at YDS Medicine. In 2022, they will begin working as the Vice President, Head of Drug Discovery at Variational AI.

Peter Guzzo completed their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Assumption University in 1989. Peter then went on to pursue a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame, which they completed in 1994. Following this, they conducted post-doctoral studies in Organic Synthesis at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute until 1995.
