Mark Schilling is an established Japan correspondent for "Variety" since 2005 and serves as a program advisor for the Udine Far East Film Festival since 2000. In addition, Mark has contributed as a senior film critic for The Japan Times since 1989 and was a Japan correspondent for Screen International from 1990 to 2005. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American history and Asian history from the University of Michigan, earned between 1967 and 1973.
