Michael Appler serves as the Brand and Communications Lead at Palm Venture Studios since June 2024 and as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Trendalytics starting April 2024. Additionally, Michael holds the position of Contributor and Reporter-at-Large for Variety from 2019 to the present. Prior roles include Chief Operating Officer at Cancel Communications, overseeing communications strategy for a range of tech and media clients, and Brand and Communications Lead for a Private Family Investment Office, advancing from an associate position. Michael also worked as Senior Digital Content Strategist at Trajectory Web Design and as a Contributing Features Writer for Backstage. Early career experience includes reporting for Village Voice and fellowships focused on information and technology law at Fordham Law School. Michael earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and American Studies from Fordham University in 2019.
