Under Dr. Stella S. Daskalopoulou's supervision, the Vascular Health Unit's research program is thematically centered around the identification of early markers of vascular impairment and maintenance of vascular health, with an interest in cardiometabolic diseases, sex differences in cardiovascular disease (CVD), women's health across the lifespan, and vascular disease prevention. Our research program covers the continuum from arteriosclerosis and arterial stiffness to advanced atherosclerosis, with a strong crossover between basic, translational, and clinical research.
