Andy Atkins

Andy Atkins has extensive work experience in the field of storage and infrastructure architecture. Andy is currently the Director of Product Management at VAST Data, starting in March 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Cloud Solutions Architect in the Azure Business Group at NetApp from May 2020 to March 2021. From October 2018 to December 2019, they held the position of Director of Engineering Infrastructure Architecture at Arm. Andy also served in multiple roles at Arm including Global Storage Team Lead and Architect, Global Storage Architect, and Senior Storage Consultant from 2012 to 2018. Before joining Arm, they worked as a Senior Storage Consultant at Thomson Reuters from September 2010 to May 2012 and at Kisdata Limited from January 2006 to June 2011. Andy also gained valuable experience at BT, where they worked as the BT Operate - Global CoE Storage Manager from November 2009 to September 2010 and as the BT Team Lead CoE for Virtualization from May 2006 to November 2009. Their career in the IT field began at BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY as a Technical Officer from September 1991 to November 1998. Throughout their career, Andy has been responsible for various aspects of storage architecture, design, implementation, and support for global organizations.

Andy Atkins attended Northgate High School from 1985 to 1990, where they studied General Studies. Andy then pursued an FD in Engineering Electrical & Mechanical from Suffolk New College in 1990-1991. From 1991 to 1993, they completed an ONC in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering, followed by an HNC in Computer Software Engineering from 1993 to 1995. Finally, Andy obtained an HND in Computer Software Engineering from Suffolk New College in 1995-1996. Andy also holds several certifications, including ICSP - Isilon Certified Storage Professional from EMC - Isilon in 2013, Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2020, NCDA from NetApp in 2006, and NCIE from NetApp in 2008.
