Weiwei L. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Weiwei started their career as a Student Intern at BlackBerry in 2013. Weiwei then worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Toronto from 2008 to 2017, where they collaborated with TELUS Communications on QoE assessment of mobile video service and developed QoE models for mobile video services using Matlab and Python.

In 2017, Weiwei joined Intel Corporation as a Software Developer, where they worked until 2018. Weiwei then joined Huawei Technologies as a Senior Software Developer, where they developed LLVM based GPU compiler, improved memory load/store in middle end and backend, and explored new technologies on SPIR-V echo system and MLIR.

In 2021, Weiwei moved to Huawei Technologies Canada as a Staff Engineer, and later became a Senior Staff Engineer in 2022. In the same year, they also joined Vastai Technologies as a Compiler Developer.

Weiwei L. completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Communication Engineering at Sichuan University from 2004 to 2008. They then pursued a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto between 2008 and 2010. Continuing their education, Weiwei L. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto from 2010 to 2017.
