Benjamin S. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Benjamin is currently the Director of Engineering at Vaticle since 2023. In 2021, they co-founded ThreatKey, Inc. and served as the Chief Data Officer before leaving in 2022. From 2018 to 2021, Benjamin worked as the Managing Partner and CTO at an undisclosed consulting firm. Prior to that, they held the position of CTO at Genesis Global Trading in 2018 and COO at Gemini.com in 2016-2017. Benjamin also worked as the Head of Quantitative Research at IEX Group, Inc. from 2014-2015. Benjamin started their career at Credit Suisse, where they were the Quantitative Research Lead from 2012-2014. Benjamin also worked as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Quantitative Researcher at Citadel Investment Group in 2011-2012. Before that, they worked as a Quantitative Researcher at UBS from 2007-2011. Benjamin's early career includes a postdoctoral research position at Columbia University in the City of New York, where they worked from 2006-2007.

Benjamin S. holds an impressive academic background with a focus on electrical engineering. Benjamin completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University in 2005, after obtaining their Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in the same field from the same institution in 2004. Prior to their time at Columbia University, Benjamin pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2002. Benjamin also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2001.

Additionally, Benjamin holds several certifications outside of their formal education. In 2017, they became a Certified Sommelier through The Court of Master Sommeliers. In 2012, they obtained the Open Water & Nitrox certification from SDI TDI ERDI, showcasing their proficiency in underwater diving. Furthermore, in 2006, Benjamin acquired several financial certifications, including Series 7, 63, 55, and 24, from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
