Simon Brauer

Simon Brauer is a Senior Engineer at Vattenfall since October 2022, specializing as the primary structure lead for foundation design in offshore wind farms, including the Norfolk and Nordlicht 1 projects. Prior experience includes roles at Siemens Gamesa from February 2019 to September 2022, where Simon served as Lead Engineer in structural design for tower projects, notably the SG DD-222/236 and the Coastal Virginia offshore wind farm. Contributions included the development of innovative connection designs and analytical methods. Simon's career began at P. E. Concepts GmbH, where responsibilities spanned project management and structural design of wind turbine towers, along with finite element analyses. An earlier internship at DB Netz AG involved capacity calculations and documentation, alongside a Master's thesis at Ballast Nedam focusing on dynamic investigations of offshore wind energy structures. Simon holds a Master of Science in Offshore Engineering from the European Wind Energy Master program and a Bachelor of Science in Bau- und Umweltingenieurwesen from Leibniz Universität Hannover.
