Steven Powell

Steven Powell has a diverse work experience that spans over several roles and companies. Steven is currently working as the Senior Director of Facilities at Vaxcyte Inc., a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this role, from 2019 to 2021, they served as the Director of Global Operations at Varian Medical Systems.

Steven also has a long-standing career in the U.S. Navy Reserve, where they held the position of Commander from 2001 to 2019. In their role, they served as Commanding Officer of an expeditionary IT/Communication unit, providing support to combat commanders with integrated internet and communications.

Furthermore, they served as an Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the University of Texas, teaching leadership development, navigation, and ethics from 1996 to 1999.

Steven Powell attended Iowa State University from 1987 to 1992 where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Steven later pursued Environmental Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin from 1996 to 1998, earning an MSE degree.
