Francisco Leon

Francisco Leon has an extensive work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Francisco began their career in 2004 as the Director of Clinical Discovery in Immunology and Oncology at Bristol-Myers Squibb. In 2006, they moved to MedImmune/AZ as the Director of Clinical Development in Inflammation and Respiratory. Francisco then joined Alba Therapeutics in 2007 as the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, and in 2010 they founded PharmImmune, a consultancy firm. Francisco also served as an Adjunct Research Associate Professor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College in 2011. In 2015, they co-founded Celimmune, an immunotherapy company, and served as its CEO and Chief Medical Officer until 2017 when it was acquired by Amgen. In 2016, they co-founded both Provention Bio, a biopharmaceutical company, and Glutenostics. Finally, in 2020 they became a Board Director at Vaxdyn SL.

Francisco Leon completed their MD at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 1989 to 1996 as part of the Allergy and Immunology Residency Program. Francisco then went on to specialize in Clinical Immunology at Hospital Ramon y Cajal, Madrid from 1997 to 2001. Finally, they obtained their PhD in Mucosal Immunology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2001.
