Peter Sands

Group Operations Director at VCG

Peter Sands has extensive work experience in various roles spanning multiple companies. Peter started their career in 2006 at Centrica, where they worked as a UK and EU Public Affairs Graduate, providing political commentary and analytical support. Peter then moved to Centrica Energy, where they served as a Renewables Graduate, providing public affairs support for wind farm projects. In 2007, they became a Business Analyst at Centrica Energy, responsible for power generation KPI reporting.

In 2007, Peter joined British Gas as a Project Manager, leading the Project Management Office for the British Gas Transformation Programme. Peter then took on roles such as Energy Join and Leave Customer Journey Manager, Metering Journey Manager, and Cape Town Operations Lead. These positions involved managing customer journeys, optimizing performance, and overseeing the setup of a call center in South Africa.

From 2013 to 2020, Peter held various managerial roles at British Gas, including Final Debt Programme Manager and Head of Business Change & Transformation. In these roles, they led projects focused on debt recovery, process improvement, and business transformation.

In 2020, Peter joined Fircroft Engineering Services Limited as a Global Change and Delivery Manager, responsible for change management and delivery. Peter then moved to VCG in 2021, where they currently hold the positions of Head of Business Change & Transformation, Project Delivery & Transformation Director, and Group Operations Director.

Throughout their career, Peter Sands has demonstrated expertise in project management, process improvement, change management, and customer experience enhancement.

Peter Sands attended the University of Bristol from 2001 to 2004, where they obtained a Bsc Honours degree in Politics. Peter later obtained certifications in Lean Competency System 1A Accreditation from the Lean Competency System in 2018 and PRINCE2 Agile® Project Management Certifications from PRINCE2.com in 2007.
