Theo Smith

Theo Smith has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. In 2009, they started their career as a Mathematics Teacher at Hospitality High School and later became an Ex Officio Board Member. During this time, they were also a Corps Member at Teach For America. In 2010, they became the Chair/School Improvement Chair at Leadership. In 2012, they joined Uncommon Schools as an Associate Director of Recruitment. Theo then moved to Explore Schools in 2015 as the Director of Recruitment. In the same year, they also served as a Specialist in the Army National Guard. In 2017, they became the Senior Director of Recruitment at STRIVE Preparatory Schools. In 2018, they joined The Broad Center as an Associate Resident. In 2019, they became the Director of Recruitment at DC Prep, a role they held until 2022. Currently, they are the Head of Talent at vChief - Virtual Chief of Staff Service.

Theo Smith completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and African-American Studies from the University of Virginia, which spanned from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from The Broad Center between 2018 and 2020.
