Bob Smedley

Bob Smedley has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Bob currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Engineering at Vcinity, a role they have held since October 2018. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Bay Microsystems for a remarkable duration of 17 years, from January 2001 to September 2018.

Before their tenure at Bay Microsystems, they were the Engineering Director at Mantra Communications, Inc. from November 1998 to January 2001. Preceding that, they held the position of VP, Hardware Engineering at Excelan, Inc. from January 1998 to November 1998.

Bob's earlier experiences include roles such as Engineering Manager at Integrated Telecomm Technology from August 1995 to January 1998, and Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Hughes Network Systems from February 1991 to August 1995. Bob began their career at Litton Industries (Amecom Division) as a Member of the Technical Staff, where they served from May 1986 to January 1991.

Bob Smedley completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland between 1983 and 1987. Bob then pursued a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications, from The Johns Hopkins University from 1990 to 1992. Additionally, in 1990 and 1991, Bob attended the University of Maryland, School of Law, although it is unknown whether they completed a degree or field of study in this institution.
