Abijith Kowligy has a diverse work experience in the field of photonic technologies. Abijith is currently a Senior Scientist at Vector Atomic, having previously worked as a Scientist at the same company. In 2016, they joined the National Institute of Standards and Technology as a Research Scientist, where they have been working on developing photonic technologies in the mid-infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Student Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Undergraduate Research Assistant at Northwestern University from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, they also worked as a Research Intern at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Abijith Kowligy attended Northwestern University from 2007 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering and Physics in 2010, followed by a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2016.
