Vector Institute
James L. is an undergraduate researcher at the Vector Institute, contributing to reinforcement learning in robotics under Professor Animesh Garg since July 2020. Prior experience includes a role as an innovator at The Knowledge Society from October 2017 to June 2019 and a data science internship at Fortuna.ai, a startup within Canada's leading business accelerator, from July 2018 to September 2018. During the internship, James L. focused on developing models for natural language processing, specifically in text classification and sentiment analysis, utilizing techniques such as embeddings. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto, James L. has been enrolled since 2019, following completion of studies at Richmond Hill High School from 2015 to 2019.
