Mark R. Thomas

Mark R. Thomas is a Machine Learning Researcher at the Vector Institute, where current work is supervised by Professor Nicolas Papernot from the University of Toronto. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Intern at the Vector Institute, developing trustworthy machine learning methods, and as a Web Developer Intern at Rupertsland Institute, focusing on a digital mentorship platform for Métis youth. Mark R. Thomas also served as a Program Reporter for CIFAR, authoring reports during the 2022 Deep Learning + Reinforcement Learning Summer School, and completed a Software Engineer Internship at Microsoft, where redesign and implementation of APIs for SharePoint's search service were led. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Honors in Computing Science from the University of Alberta and currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Toronto.
