Camilo Aguilar has a wealth of experience in software engineering. Camilo began their career in 2010 as a Senior Software Engineer and Architect at Bug Labs. In 2012, they became a Founding Fellow and Board Advisor at Coderise, an organization that empowers young students in developing nations by teaching them how to build great web applications. In 2013, they were an Organizer for JSConf Colombia, the most important JavaScript event in Colombia. Camilo then joined Onswipe in 2012 as a Lead Software Engineer, where they refactored crucial backend systems and improved front-end performance. In 2014, they founded Hooklift, Inc. and worked on an open source, distributed and application-centric platform layer for multiple clouds. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Tech Lead and Senior Software Engineer at Enigma Technologies, Inc. and then a Staff Software Engineer at Slack from 2019 to 2021. Camilo is currently a Principal Member of Technical Staff at Salesforce and a Software Engineer at Redpanda Data.
Camilo Aguilar began their education in 2000, studying Systems Engineering at Universidad de Medellín. Camilo completed their studies in 2003 and then attended Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2006, taking a Cisco Certified Network Associate Course. Camilo then returned to Universidad de Medellín, where they studied Telecommunications Engineering from 2003 to 2005.
