Kasian Franks

CEO & Co-Founder at Vectorspace

Kasian Franks has an extensive work experience, beginning in 1999 with NetSchools, where they worked in product development and software engineering. In 2000, they worked at mPower, where they were involved in product development, software refactoring, and engineering. Kasian then moved to X-Mine in 2001, where they were the product developer and director of the genomic search business unit. In 2002, they were a consulting for search and discovery for genomics at AstraZeneca, and also worked at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a genomic research scientist in space biosciences. In 2005, they founded, became CEO and CVO of SeeqPod Music Streaming, which was later acquired by Intertrust - Sony/Philips. From 2010 to 2013, they were the founder, CEO, Chairman, and CVO of Mimvi, Inc. In 2015, they became an EIR Advisor for deep technology startups at Propel(x). Since 2016, they have been the CEO and Co-Founder of Vector Space Biosciences.

Kasian Franks attended University of California, Berkeley from 1991 to 1993 and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science. Prior to that, they attended Diablo Valley College and studied C and Pascal. Kasian also attended Stanford University for a Professional Development Course in Representations for Algorithms in Computational Molecular Biology.
