John O'Reilly

John O'Reilly has over 17 years of work experience in the IT and software industry. In 2017, they began working as the Development Operations Manager for Vee24, where they had sole hands-on responsibility for the architecture, implementation and support of the company's global cloud and on-premise infrastructure and data platforms. John also brought a DevOps mindset and processes to the organisation via automated tooling. Prior to this, from 2009 to 2017, they were the Technical (IT) Operations Manager for Inrix, where they had full operational responsibility and accountability for all hardware and software deployed in five data centre locations across Europe and Asia. From 2002 to 2009, they worked for ITIS Holdings plc in various roles, including Database Team Manager, Senior Database Administrator and Senior Network Support Engineer. During this time, they implemented a variety of projects, such as migrating 8TB of historical archive data onto a data warehouse appliance, redesigning and rewriting poorly implemented data schemas and migrating an estate of 18 SQL Server 2000 instances to SQL Server 2005.

John O'Reilly attended Pendleton College from 1990 to 1992, where they studied A levels in Physics, Mathematics, Computing and Politics. John then went on to The Open University from 2000 to 2006, where they obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Astrophysics and Quantum Mechanics.
