Michael York

Michael York currently serves as the Chief Business Officer at Velia, a company focused on harnessing the therapeutic potential of a newly identified class of human proteins. Prior to joining Velia in November 2023, Michael held various leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Business Officer at Metacrine, and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Alliance Management at PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals. Michael’s extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical sector includes roles at Orexigen Therapeutics and Amylin, among others, with a strong focus on business development, corporate strategy, and commercialization efforts. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Economics from San Diego State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands.
