Velodyne Space is advancing electromagnetic launch and counter-drone systems designed to meet the evolving demands of space access, national security, and public safety.

Built on electromagnetic coil technology configured as a linear motor, Velodyne Space is developing a portfolio that includes its Magnetic-Electric Launch (MEL) system and advanced counter-drone defense capabilities. These non-explosive technologies are engineered to reduce risk, cost, emissions, and operational constraints associated with traditional systems.

Founded by lidar industry pioneer David Hall, the company applies decades of breakthrough engineering to applications ranging from space launch and hypersonic missile test launch to orbital debris mitigation and drone defense against both single and swarm-based threats.

As unmanned aerial systems proliferate and space activity accelerates, Velodyne Space is focused on delivering scalable, repeatable, and safety-first solutions that expand capability without compromising the surrounding environment.

This is where electromagnetic innovation meets real-world impact.
