Joann Chen

Joann Chen is currently a Graduate Student Researcher at UT Southwestern Medical Center, with a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology expected by 2027. Joann has extensive experience in impact investing, having held key roles such as Vice President at Bain Capital and Partner at Equal Opportunity Ventures, focusing on social and economic equity. Previous positions include Board Member at Vencapital, Clinical Research Assistant at McLean Hospital, and Senior Advisor and Director at Jobs for the Future's Employment Technology Fund. Joann also gained experience in social enterprise finance as a Summer Associate at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and Toniic, as well as serving as an Investment Officer at ImpactAssets. Academic credentials include an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and African Studies from the University of Chicago.
