Karla Torrez

Senior Integration Architect at Vencore, Inc.

Karla Torrez has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Karla worked as a Joint Staff Information Assurance Officer for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where they played a vital role in establishing NORTHCOM and DHS after 9/11. Torrez also served as an Enterprise Architect for the Department of Defense CIO Office, overseeing strategy development and policy guidance for the Global Information Grid. Karla worked as a Deputy CIO in the Executive Office of the President and led the Presidential Records transition to the National Archives. Torrez also had roles as a Senior Systems Architect for the U.S. Army G3/5/7 Operations and Plans and as an Integration Engineer for Amps Strategies Inc., providing support to the U.S. Army TENCAP and ASPO. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Integration Architect for Vencore Inc. and as a Systems Engineer for Geospatial, leading the NGA Crisis Action Team for Afghanistan. Torrez has also been self-employed on multiple occasions, filling various roles and providing contracting services.

Karla Torrez has a diverse educational background. From 1976 to 1980, they attended Missouri State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems. In 1993, they furthered their education at Central Michigan University, earning a Master of Science degree in Administration. Later, in 2000 and 2001, Karla attended the National War College, NDU, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in National Security.
