Eric R.

Eric R. has a diverse work experience in various roles. Eric started their career as a Tutor at the Academy for Mathematics & English, where they provided tutoring services to children from JK to Grade 12 in Mathematics and English. Eric also created daily reports, gave feedback to parents, and managed an electronic user database. Following this, they worked as a Software Developer at the same company, where they developed a web-based scheduling application using Bootstrap, Express.js, JQuery, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

After that, Eric joined VendorPM as a Full Stack Engineer, where they were responsible for developing the front-end and back-end components using React v17, MongoDB/postgreSQL, GraphQL, Apollo server, Express.js, and Node.js.

Currently, Eric is working at Sun Life as a Senior Database Administrator. In this role, they perform day-to-day maintenance of various on-prem and cloud databases, including DynamoDB, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, RedShift, and Sybase. Eric is also involved in writing YAML templates for deploying instances on AWS using CloudFormation and writing bash shell scripts for automation.

Eric R. completed their Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics & Mathematics from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 2013 to 2018. Following that, they attended Seneca College from 2018 to 2019 and earned a Diploma in Computer Programming. Additionally, Eric obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2020.
