Glenn Black

Vice President Tax at Venerable

Glenn Black has a vast work experience in the field of tax. Glenn began their career at EY in 1984 as a Tax Manager and worked there until 1989. Glenn then joined Unum as the Director of Tax Compliance, where they remained until 1997. From 1997 to 1998, they served as the Director - Federal Tax at Transamerica Life Insurance Company. Glenn then joined Voya Financial as the Assistant Vice President of Tax in 1998 and stayed with the company until 2010. In 2010, they became the Director of Tax at TIAA for a year. From 2011 to 2016, they worked at Symetra as the Vice President of Tax, and then joined Unum again in 2016 as the AVP of Tax until 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Tax at Venerable since 2018.

Glenn Black earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Management from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, from 1979 to 1983. Glenn then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Accounting with a concentration in Taxation from the same university from 1983 to 1984. In addition to their degrees, Glenn Black holds certifications as a Fellow, Life Management Institute from LOMA, which they obtained in May 1986, and as a Certified Public Accountant from the Kentucky Board of Accountancy, which they obtained in March 1986.
