Nick’s current investments include Dataminr, a real-time AI platform that identifies critical breaking information from publicly available data sets; Interos, a multi-tier, multi-factor third-party risk management platform; Rebellion Defense, which develops AI-driven products that serve the mission of national defense; Percipient.ai, an advanced computer vision analytics platform; Altruist, a commission-free digital investing platform for financial advisors; Ombud, an enterprise application enabling intelligent sales content collaboration; Chisel.ai, an enterprise platform for a new class of intelligent insurance applications; and Quiq, an enterprise application enabling messaging-based customer service.

Prior to joining Venrock, Nick was a General Partner at Matrix Partners and worked in the technology groups at McKinsey and Goldman Sachs.

Nick has deep interests in public policy and in particular how technology is changing the nature of national security. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations and recently participated on a Task Force there that published Innovation and National Security: Keeping Our Edge, examining how the U.S. can maintain its lead in science and technology innovation and the national security and economic consequences of failing to do so. He serves on the Executive Advisory Committee at the Center on Global Energy Policy.

Nick also serves on the board of Endeavor, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting high-impact entrepreneurs globally that Tom Friedman has called “the best anti-poverty program of all.”
