Vento CFD
Marco Mulas is the founder and CEO of Vento CFD srl, where innovative software utilizing the Immersed Boundary technique has been developed to revolutionize CFD analysis since December 2016. Prior to this role, Marco served as a lecturer at the University of Parma, focusing on numerical methods for heat transfer and fluid flow applications, and as Principal at Calaris Consultants, driving R&D in the Immersed Boundary technique. Marco's entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of KARALIT, where over €3 million was raised in private investments and public funding. With extensive experience as a senior researcher and group leader at CRS4, Marco developed algorithms for complex problems in computational fluid dynamics. Earlier academic achievements include a postdoctoral fellowship at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics and multiple degrees in fluid mechanics and mechanical engineering from esteemed institutions, culminating in an MBA in Business Innovation at MIB Trieste School of Management.

Vento CFD
Vento is a software and consultancy company specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) field and built across four key applications: - Wind Load Determination: accurate assessment of wind loads on buildings and structures - Pedestrian Comfort: ensuring optimal comfort in open urban spaces - Building Physics Analysis: in-depth study of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems - Risk Analysis: comprehensive evaluation and prevention of potential risks What sets VENTO AEC apart is its proprietary "non-conformal grid" technology, enabling seamless interaction within the Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment. Unlike traditional approaches, VENTO AEC can directly import IFC models without the need for simplification. The result? Up to 95 percent reduction in pre-processing time and costs, coupled with tailored post-processing based on specific application domains. Harnessing the power of CFD modeling, VENTO AEC offers a multitude of benefits, including cost savings in building materials, enhanced value in urban planning projects, support for LEED and WELL certifications, and robust risk analysis and prevention capabilities. With over 30 years of dedicated research and development, VENTO AEC aims at being the pinnacle of advanced CFD simulation in today's global landscape.
