Mark Marino has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and innovation sectors. Mark started their career as a Community Health Volunteer in the Peace Corps, where they conducted assessments and provided assistance in Burkina Faso. Mark then worked as the Executive Director and National Director at Health Leads, where they focused on integrating social determinants of health into patient-centered care. Mark later served as the Vice President of Business Development at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, where they established new partnerships and implemented innovative marketing strategies. Mark also worked as the Chief Development Officer at Seed Global Health, a non-profit organization that strengthens healthcare systems through education and training. Mark held leadership positions in various other organizations such as USAID, Whitaker International Program, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where they managed projects and initiatives related to healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship. Currently, Mark is the Vice President of Growth Strategy & Development at VentureWell, an organization that supports early-stage innovators and startups in various fields. Mark is also involved in instructor/mentor roles in programs that prepare startups for investment and support student-led innovation teams. Additionally, Mark serves as the Project Director for the National Institutes of Health's Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) initiative, which focuses on developing diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2. Mark is also a Project Director for the Global Innovation Through Science and Technology (GIST) program, organized by the U.S. Department of State.
Mark Marino completed their Bachelor's degree in Zoology and Neuroscience from Miami University from 1999 to 2003. Mark then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy and Management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from 2009 to 2011.
