Director, Global Marketing Operations at Veracyte

Steve Place has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Steve started their career as an Information Systems Intern at Godiva Chocolatier in 2001, followed by an internship at Comcast as a Network Operations Intern in 2002. In 2003, they worked as a Six Sigma Data Warehouse Intern at Carpenter Technology. Steve then joined EMC as a Solutions Architect and Project Manager from 2006 to 2008.

After working in the tech industry, Steve transitioned into marketing roles. Steve joined Nutrition53 as a Marketing Manager from 2008 to 2011. From 2007 to 2012, they also ran their own business, Steve Place Design, where they served as an Interaction Designer, Startup Consultant, and Freelance Photographer.

In 2012, Steve joined Demandforce as a Digital Marketing Manager, where they handled SEM/SEO efforts, site development, and content generation. Demandforce was later acquired by Intuit, and Steve continued their role as a Senior Digital Marketing Manager from 2013 to 2016, and as a Digital Marketing Manager until 2017.

Currently, Steve is the Director of Global Marketing Operations at Veracyte, Inc. In this role, they lead a global marketing operations team, overseeing various areas such as marketing production, marketing vendor relationships, and performance management. Steve also collaborates with product brand teams, manages marketing data, and works closely with Senior Sales leadership.

Steve Place earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Human Computer Interaction and a minor in Business from Drexel University. Steve attended Drexel University from 2000 to 2005. In addition to their degree, Steve also obtained several certifications, including an EMC Documentum Integration Specialist certification from EMC in August 2007, a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification from Microsoft in August 2007, and a Hummingbird RedDot Specialist certification from Hummingbird in February 2007.
