Zoe Prentice

Solid State Scientist at Veranova

Zoe Prentice has a diverse range of work experience. Zoe started their career as a Solid State Scientist at Veranova in 2015, where they worked on polymorphism assessments and salt screens of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Their work involved utilizing various analytical techniques such as X-ray Powder Diffraction, NMR, HPLC, SEM, TGA, and DSC thermal analysis and GVS dynamic vapor sorption.

Before that, Zoe worked as a Student Guide at the University of East Anglia from 2010 to 2014. Their responsibilities included promoting the university to prospective students and parents, leading campus and department tours, and assisting with laboratory demonstrations.

Zoe also gained research experience as a Research Student at the Energy Materials Laboratory from 2013 to 2014. During this time, they independently carried out a yearlong research project for their dissertation and used a variety of techniques, mainly NMR and FTIR, to analyze reaction products.

Furthermore, Zoe was a Committee Member of the UEA Chemistry Society from 2012 to 2013. In this role, they organized events for students and staff, including a Royal Society of Chemistry quiz night, and provided support to new students during their first year.

Lastly, Zoe served as a Kit Representative for UEA Pole Fitness from 2012 to 2013. Their responsibilities included managing the maintenance, safety, and ordering of club equipment, supervising lessons and practice sessions, and planning social events. Zoe successfully arranged the club's first competitions, including one as part of an inter-university competition.

Zoe Prentice pursued their higher education, starting from 2008 to 2010, at Downham Market Sixth Form, where they obtained their A levels in Maths, Chemistry, and Physics. Subsequently, they attended the University of East Anglia from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Master's Degree in Chemistry.
