Jp Son

JP Son has extensive work experience in the legal field. JP is currently the Chief Legal Officer at Verbit.ai since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Vonage for almost a decade, starting in 2012. At Vonage, JP held various roles, including Vice President, Legal, where they led the legal team for the API Platform business unit and oversaw global regulatory, privacy, and intellectual property programs. JP was responsible for negotiating various agreements and developing legal terms and templates. Before Vonage, JP worked as a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel at the same company from 2012 to 2017. Prior to joining Vonage, they served as an Associate at Bingham McCutchen from 2006 to 2012.

JP Son completed their Executive Education Program in Leading Strategic Growth at Columbia Business School in 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a JD (Juris Doctor) degree in Law from Columbia Law School, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. JP also holds a BS (Bachelor of Science) degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, where they studied from 2000 to 2003. Before attending Cornell, JP Son attended the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics from 1998 to 2000. In terms of additional certifications, they became a Registered Patent Attorney through the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) in November 2012. JP also attained the status of a Licensed Attorney through the New York State Bar Association in 2007.
