Maksym Sarana

Maksym Sarana has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Maksym started their career as a Delphi programmer at Lunapack, where they developed an application for client order calculation in the printing and packaging industry. Maksym then worked as a sales analyst at Malbi before joining Home Credit Bank as a leading specialist in the financial planning division, and later as the head of the cost controlling division.

After that, Maksym worked at VTB Bank (Ukraine) as the head of the corporate business reporting and planning division, and then moved on to Sberbank (Ukraine) as the head of the corporate business planning and analysis division.

In 2016, they became a data scientist at SmartyAds, working on the Dynamic Bidding project for DSP, where they utilized Vowpal Wabbit, Python, Redis and Aerospike DBs, and Kafka technologies.

Maksym then transitioned to the role of a research engineer at Audyssey Laboratories and later at GlobalLogic, where they served as a senior software engineer. Currently, they are employed at Verbit.ai as a research engineer in automated speech recognition.

Maksym Sarana attended the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technology from 1999 to 2004 and obtained a Master's Degree in Economic Cybernetics. In 2016, they attended the Big Data School from Kyivstar, where they studied Machine Learning and Big Data Analytics. Maksym then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Applied Mathematics at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, starting in 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Maksym Sarana has obtained various certifications. Maksym completed the MLOps Mini-course from AI HOUSE in July 2022. In April 2017, they completed a course on Developing Distributed Applications Using ZooKeeper. Furthermore, they obtained several certificates from edX and Coursera, including certificates for Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python, Programming with C#, Scalable Machine Learning, Reproducible Research, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox. Maksym Sarana also holds a Certified Accounting Practitioner (CAP) certification from CIPAEN (capcipa.ua) obtained in August 2011.
