Mackenzie Carter

Mackenzie Carter is a Staff Scientist II at Verdantas, a position they have held since 2025. Previously, they worked as an Environmental Scientist at Applied Environmental, Inc., where they supported the Pentagon’s environmental compliance programs from 2023 to 2025. Before that, Mackenzie served as an Environmental Scientist at Avanti Corporation, engaging with permit applicants and conducting water quality sampling between 2022 and 2023. They also gained experience as a Geology Research Assistant at the University of Virginia in 2019, where they analyzed radiocarbon ages of sediment. Mackenzie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia in 2021.
