Tom Benson

Tom Benson, PE, GE, is a Senior Principal Geotechnical Engineer currently at Verdantas and Leighton Group, where they specialize in geotechnical, geoenvironmental, and materials engineering in Southern California. Tom served as President and CEO of Leighton Consulting, Inc. from 2004 to 2023 and previously held the position of Senior Vice President at Converse Consultants West from 1988 to 1997. They earned a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University.
