Sam Hyland

Sam Hyland has extensive experience in the field of professional services and technical architecture. Sam started their career in 2003 as a Web Developer at GlaxoSmithKline. From 2004 to 2008, they worked as a Consultant at Pentura Solutions Inc, where they designed and developed portal-based applications and implemented identity management solutions. From 2009 to 2012, they served as a Software Engineer at ThinkWrap Solutions Inc, specializing in the implementation of portal solutions. Since 2012, Sam has been working at Veriday, initially as a Technical Architect and later as the Director of Professional Services and currently as the Vice President of Professional Services. In their roles at Veriday, they have worked on various projects with clients such as CIBC, Investment Planning Counsel, Sompo International, Broadridge, Atlantic Trust, and Saskatchewan Government Insurance, providing expert guidance on design and architecture, coordinating communication and development, and ensuring successful delivery. Sam has a wealth of experience in using technologies such as Liferay Portal, WebSphere Portal, Spring, and various open source frameworks and libraries. Sam has achieved notable successes, including delivering a personalized intranet solution at IPC and leading a successful migration at Atlantic Trust.

Sam Hyland attended McMaster University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Software. Sam also holds a certification as a Liferay Certified Professional Developer 6.2, obtained in 2014.
