Jon Thacker

Jon Thacker is a Software Engineering Manager at Verily, a role assumed in October 2023. Prior to this position, Jon served as Sr. Manager of Software Engineering at Instrumental Inc. from June 2022 to September 2023 and held multiple leadership roles at SparkMeter, including Senior Vice President of Engineering, Vice President of Systems Engineering, and Director of Research and Development, from December 2016 to June 2022. Jon's earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Student Researcher at Northwestern University from September 2011 to November 2016, and working as an Engineering Consultant at SparkMeter and a Technical Consultant at Cantina. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Magnetic Resonance Imaging from Northwestern University, where a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering was also earned. Additionally, Jon completed a Management for Scientists and Engineers Certificate at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
