Don Nelson

Don Nelson is currently serving as Senior Data Protection & Privacy Manager at Verisign since September 2019, where responsibilities include overseeing the Data Protection and Privacy program and liaising with the Data Protection Officer. Prior to Verisign, Don held the position of Director of Information Security at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, managing security activities related to the Federal Employee Program Operations Center. Experience also includes roles as Principal Consultant at Infinitive Insight, VP and Information Security Officer at Cardinal Bank, Director of Data & Systems Security at Fannie Mae, and various positions in program management and quality assurance across multiple organizations, including Raytheon Aircraft Company and the United States Air Force. Education consists of a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an Associate's degree from the Community College of the Air Force.
