Steven Handerson

Steven Handerson is a software engineer and computational scientist with a master’s degree in computational linguistics from Carnegie Mellon University, which they pursue currently. They have extensive experience in bioinformatics, having worked at notable organizations including Lockheed Martin, 454 Life Sciences, and Verisk, where they applied innovative algorithmic approaches and improved system efficiencies. Throughout their career, Steven has focused on simplifying complex problems and has developed significant techniques in data processing and analysis, such as improving kmer calculations and inventing a method for in silico normalization.
