Stuart Crichton

Stuart Crichton Ph.D. is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience spanning various roles in data science and engineering. Currently serving as Data Science Manager and previously as Lead Data Scientist and Data Scientist at Verisk since March 2019, Stuart contributes to critical data-driven decision-making initiatives. Prior experience includes a role as Computer Vision Engineer at Emergent Network Intelligence Ltd, and Data Scientist at Caspian, where machine learning algorithms were developed for automation in decision-making processes. Stuart's academic background includes postdoctoral researcher positions at the University of Kassel and Newcastle University, focusing on vision systems for food drying processes and the development of optical systems for moisture prediction. Stuart holds a Ph.D. in Colour Constancy, colour image processing, and hyperspectral imaging from Newcastle University, as well as a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the same institution. Additionally, Stuart was a Midshipman in the Royal Naval Reserves.
