Markus Toman

Markus Toman serves as the Head of Veritone Labs at Veritone since June 2022, focusing on cutting-edge research in multimodal retrieval, agent systems, speech synthesis, audio, and computer vision. Prior to this, Markus held the position of Principal Applied Scientist within the same organization, leading machine learning and GenAI research. From April 2016 to June 2022, Markus worked at VocaliD as the Head of Voice Engineering, overseeing R&D for personalized speech synthesis technology. Additional experience includes roles as an external lecturer at Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt, an independent computer scientist at neuratec, and a researcher at the Telecommunications Research Center Vienna. Markus is also a co-owner of MyGEWO.at, an Austrian housing search engine. Academically, Markus earned a PhD in Computer Science from Technische Universität Wien and holds master's and bachelor's degrees in Medical Informatics.
