Derrick Emsley

Derrick Emsley is a co-founder of veritree, established in January 2021, which focuses on unlocking global investment in nature and enhancing restoration efforts. Emsley also co-founded tentree in January 2012, with a mission to plant one billion trees by 2030 while prioritizing environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Earlier experience includes serving as a Merchant Banking Analyst at CIBC from August 2012 to February 2013, where responsibilities encompassed private equity investments and due diligence. Additionally, Emsley co-founded Greenfield Carbon Offsetters, operational from June 2007 to June 2011, which developed a significant agroforestry project in Saskatchewan aimed at carbon footprint management. Educational qualifications include an HBA from Ivey Business School at Western University and a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Regina.
