Hart led the resuscitation, repositioning, and growth of the Francisco Partners-backed e-commerce platform formerly known as Avangate, culminating in a strategic sale to VeriFone for 18.5X its value when they became CEO. 2Checkout is the monetization platform that simplifies the complexities of Digital Commerce for thousands of Software, SaaS, and Online Services companies around the world from its operational headquarters in Romania. 2Checkout enabled 20,000 e-commerce companies to sell their products and services, manage subscriptions and renewals, pay taxes, minimize foreign exchange (FX) expenses, and leverage smarter cross border and in country payment options in and between 180 countries. Under Hart's leadership, revenue increased from $30 million to $82 million USD, revenue growth increased from 5% to 30%, and EBITDA margin improved from 0 to 15%. Alex also improved both customer and employee retention and cut the average customer payback period in half.
