C. Max Magee has a diverse work experience in various industries. C. Max started as an Online Editor/Scripps Fellow at the Chicago Tribune in 2005. In 2006, they founded and managed tickerspy.com, a profitable community website for investors, and served as a Product Manager. During their time at Indie Research, they also developed a revenue strategy and collaborated with advertising partners. In the same year, they joined Verity as a Senior Analyst, specializing in qualitative and quantitative research on insider buying/selling, institutional ownership, share buybacks, and executive compensation. C. Max was later promoted to Principal, Research Operations, where they directed the focus of daily coverage of insider and institutional activity for institutional clients. In 2003, Max also created and ran The Millions, an arts, literature, and culture online magazine with numerous contributors, including award-winning writers. C. Max eventually sold The Millions to the parent company of Publishers Weekly magazine in 2018.
C. Max Magee attended St. Albans School from 1992 to 1996, where they completed their high school education. From 1996 to 2000, Magee pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics at the University of Virginia. Later on, from 2004 to 2006, they enrolled at Northwestern University, where they obtained a Masters of Journalism in the field of Journalism.
