Julia Smith

Julia Smith is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in protein production and drug design. Currently, as a Senior Scientist 2 at Vernalis since February 2005, Julia applies advanced techniques in molecular biology, insect cell and E. coli expression, and protein purification to support structure-based drug design efforts. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at Astex from 2001 to 2005, where Julia was part of the protein production team, and as a Research Scientist at Roche Pharmaceuticals from 1999 to 2001, where Julia gained experience through a graduate rotation scheme in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry. Julia holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Animal Physiology and Pharmacology from the University of Leicester, obtained in 1999.
