Justin Wheler

Justin Wheler serves as the Chief Program Management Officer at Verra since August 2022, overseeing Verra's Program Management Team and responsible for the Verra Registry and quality assurance related to various environmental standards. Prior to this role, Justin held multiple senior leadership positions at Emissions Reduction Alberta, including Senior Director of VCS Program Development and Executive Director of Technology and Innovation, and contributed to Alberta's carbon pricing and emission offset systems as Executive Director of Climate Implementation and Compliance in the Government of Alberta. Justin's career began with experience as a Canadian programs intern at Engineers Without Borders Canada and as an environmental engineering co-op at Teck Resources Limited. Justin holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta and previously studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Victoria.
