Mandy Rambharos

Mandy Rambharos is the Chief Executive Officer of Verra, the world’s leading voluntary carbon market standard. They served as Vice President for Global Climate Cooperation at the Environmental Defense Fund from 2022 to 2024, directing multilateral climate engagements and leading initiatives such as the Energy Transition Accelerator to advance carbon markets and carbon pricing strategies that promote low-emissions futures while supporting marginalized communities. At Eskom, they were General Manager for Just Energy Transition (2021–2022) and previously held the roles of Corporate Specialist Sustainable Development (2005–2010) and Climate Change and Sustainability Manager, focusing on policy and strategy development and stakeholder engagement. They have been a negotiator for South Africa and Africa at United Nations climate talks, co-chaired the Article 6 outcome at COP26, and are on the board of the National Business Initiative, with previous service as a commissioner on the South African Presidential Climate Commission.
